Bookings and Payment - Direct with us
When you make a direct booking with us your reservation is secured with a valid debit or credit card. We ask for a deposit equal to the first nights stay. In the case of a group or family booking for more than one night the card holder will be responsible for the whole booking. The balance is payable on either check in or check out.
Bookings must be paid for with cash or a valid debit or credit card. Cheques are not normally accepted.
Cancellation Policy - Direct with us
Cancellations should be made by 14.00 two days before arrival. If the booking is cancelled by this time no payment is due. If the booking is cancelled after 14.00 two days before arrival we reserve the right to charge your card with an amount equal to the first nights cost.
You are advised to consider taking out appropriate travel insurance.
Bookings and Payments - External Bookings
When a booking is made via an external booking site or agent you should refer to their terms and conditions covering your booking in respect of payment and cancellation. These conditions may differ from site to site and it is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with them.
Valid debit or credit card details are normally required to secure a booking. Where only a deposit, refundable or non-refundable is paid, the balance is to be paid by you to us on either check in or check out.
Balances must be paid for with cash or a valid debit or credit card. Cheques are not normally accepted.
Prices
All prices are correct at the time of publishing them however they may be varied without notice. Prices are per room per night based on two sharing (other than the family room) including breakfast. Any supplements agreed in advance will be added to the total price of your booking.
Arrival and Departure
Rooms are usually available from 2.00 pm on the day of arrival. You are free to check in between 2.00pm and 7.00pm. Prior notice of your anticipated arrival time would be appreciated. Check out is by 10.30 am on the day of departure.
The front door is kept locked at all times. You are provided with a key so that you are able to come and go as you wish. Please ensure your room and the front door is closed and locked each time you leave the building.
Non Arrival
In the event of your non arrival your debit or credit card will be charged the full amount of your stay. We may reduce this amount if we are able to let your room at short notice. A receipt will be forwarded to you.
Smoking
We operate a strict no smoking policy within the building and gardens. Any breach of this condition will result in a £100.00 surcharge to cover cleaning and deodorisation costs. If any specialist cleaning is required this will also be charged to you. Your debit or credit card will be charged the full amount. A receipt will be forwarded to you.
You will be required to vacate the premises immediately.
Data Protection.
We may process the information you provide to us for the purposes notified in our privacy policy. By making a booking you consent to this processing of information. We will not pass your contact details to third parties.
Parking
We have space for five cars on our car park. Space is restricted and you may be blocked in. If you know you require your car during the day please inform us at breakfast. Please let us know at the time of booking if you require a parking space. It may be possible to leave your car on the day of departure however this must be agreed with us in advance.
Cars are parked at the owners risk.
Wifi
Wifi is provided subject to range free of charge via a secure local area network. Bowen house is not responsible for the security or loss of your data.
Pets
The owners suffer from an allergy to both cats and dogs so regrettably we are not able to accept pets. In view of this allergy it also makes it difficult for us to accept assistance dogs. We would accept assistance dogs however only in an emergency situation.
Children
Children are welcome at Bowen House. Never leave your children unattended in the rooms and make sure they are supervised in the bathrooms and on the stairs.
Equipment
We are able to provide a high chair and cot for babies. We have a pushchair available for hire. It is your responsibility to ensure the items are suitable and safe for your requirements.
General Damage
This is our home and we ask that you treat all areas respectfully. Failure to comply with this request will result in an additional charge being made to cover the cost of any damage. Any charge levied will be made directly to the debit or credit card detailed by you at the time of booking. A receipt will be forwarded to you.
